Let’s Play Pool

As a native Floridian turned Texan, I know a thing or two about heat. Currently, it seems as if summer has jumped right in and that it won’t be departing anytime soon. So while it is here, I am also going to jump…right into the pool and into my weekend!

Happy Friday and Happy Everything!

I am attracted to green grass around pools. It allows for a more natural and inviting feel. Photo source: Architectural Digest

I love black and white ticking, but this gray and white makes me want to re-think that! It is softer, yet refined. Photo by Francesco Lagnese for House Beautiful

Oh what fun! A great shade of blue used for the windows and the shutters. I spy boxwoods too! Photo source: Pinterest

A fireplace by the pool is clearly a good idea, especially if it looks like this! Photo source: Pinterest

Grass around the pool via Chic Coastal Living

Again, grass around the pool.  People tend to be so fussy with their pool areas (rock fountains, grottos, slides). This picture proves less is more (Sorry Tony Duquette).  Photo source: Chic Coastal Living

I think this pool is the prettiest color blue. Those tiles really pop against the landscaping. Photo source: Architectural Digest

While you have to have a lot of land, I prefer pools that are further away or on the side of a house. Photo source: Pinterest

Joe Fresh's Canadian home via Canadian House and Home

I spy some potted boxwoods around this home and pool area of the creator of the Joe Fresh fashion brand. So clean, classic, and modern….just like his clothes! Photo source: Canadian House & Home

Lights around the pool_Photo by Fredric Lagrange

How wonderful are those Crepe Myrtles right on the edge of the pool? Although I bet that pool looks like it is covered in white specs of flower petals during the summer. #Truth Photo by the talented Frederic Lagrange

Good taste can be genetic, and this Hampton’s home of Patricia Herrera Lansing (Carolina’s daughter) is proof. Love the pathway to the pool and the gorgeous blue hydrangeas. Chic Simplicity. Photo source: Habitually Chic from Elle Decor.

Fashion icon Tory Burch’s Southampton home. What a striking black trellis, surrounded by so much detail in the white moldings. Again- grass lines the pool! Photo source: Vogue
