Come And Knock On My Door

If there is one thing that Italy and most European cities have, it is beautiful doors. I could barely walk a block without stopping to snap a picture. I even bought an antiqued lion head door knocker for the gorgeous black lacquered front door that I don’t even have (yet)! Their doors are just so unique and intriguing that they deserved a post of their own.

*Again, most of these photos were taken with an iPhone. Apologies for the quality.

Blue Doors and Shutters

So much attention to detail with these doors. Soft blue, matching shutters, nailheads, and great iron work. Perfection.

Door BW Floor

Now that is a lion!  Love the paneling on the door and the black and white marble floors.

Doors Celedon

What a lovely and soft seafoam color.

Door Knocker 2

Not the most inviting knocker, but this monkey reminds me of figures in my great grandmother’s home. Terrified me then, and terrifies me now.

Doors Gray

Gray stained doors with such prominent paneling. A monochromatic masterpiece!

Door Bell

Why can’t all door bells look this chic?

Doors- ornate

Very rich looking wood and detailed paneling.

Door Knocker Tuscany

Another interesting knocker. Such a different shape for the handle.

Travestere Rome

The Trastevere neighborhood in Rome would be much more charming without the abundant graffiti. Such a shame.

Hotel Door 2 CDB

The hotel doors at Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany. So quaint and chic!

Doors Blue Matte

These matte blue doors with nailhead detail were one of my absolute favorites.

Door Panel Detail

Great paneling. Fierce knockers.

Montacino Door above

Pure charm in Montalcino.

Great Door Arch

Love the brick arch around the doors. I wanted to walk right in!

Blue Door Large

Blue Door Detail

Wonderful large doors with such great detail.

Roman Knockers

Very Roman knockers. Arrivederci!
