Accessible Amenities

As you all know, I am not one to share too many details of my personal life on the blog, just my personal design style. However, today I want to end the week on a personal note. There is a dear family friend who is faced with creating a bathroom that is wheelchair accessible. It doesn’t sound timeless, trendy, or chic, but it is a reality. A reality that many people face. Just because you have a disability, doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice good taste. While I would love to see some of my favorite designers create handicap accessible homes, those often don’t make the pages of interior publications.

I found a few favorites that were beautifully finished. I recognize that this may not interest most of you, and it certainly didn’t interest our family friend until this was the only option she was given. It is a harsh and sad reality, but I think all of us can look on the bright side of tragedy. No matter your ability, budget, or space- you can make it chic, beautiful, and inspiring.

Have a safe and wonderful weekend! See you back here Monday!
